Adele, Bob Dylan‘ın “To Make You Feel My Love” şarkısını, şarkıyı seven menajeri Jonathan Dickins’ın tavsiyesi üzerine kaydetti. “Hometown Glory” şarkısı, İngiliz ve Amerikan televizyon programları Skins, Grey’s Anatomy, One Tree Hill, Hollyoaks, Secret Diary of a Call Girl ve So You Think You Can Dance‘te kullanıldı.2008 yılının Temmuz ayında Adele, Blues & Soul dergisine, albümünü on dokuz yaşındayken yazmasından ötürü albüme 19 adını verdiğini açıkladı. Tayvan edisyonu martta yayınlandı.
